The Austrian Volkswagen importer operates Rally sport for the image of the Beetle. While one grants the Salzburg sport department a relatively good place in the annual budget, there is, provisionally, no support still from Wolfsburg, however. After the extremely successful 1971 season for Porsche Salzburg (the expenditure was worthwhile in itself), Team Manager Strasser's prospects for 1972 are quite favorable - in the international framework, as well.
