Andreas Korontzis' Beetle
Tsafogiannis Dimitrios sent through these pictures taken of Andreas' rally car from the CS Beetle Historic Rally team in Greece.
The pictures were taken during the 7th Historic Acropolis Rally held between 9th and 15th May 2008, organised by ELPA (the Greek motor sports organisation), with 4 days of competition.
This rally is one of the top Historic events in Europe, and counts towards the FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship. It starts under the shadow of the Parthenon, and uses some of the classic special stages of the original Acropolis, heading towards the Peloponnese. This year, there were special stages on both tarmac and gravel, covering 1400km!
The car in the pictures is a 1600, and the crew brought it home in 4th place in their class - a good result, bearing in mind that this was their first rally in this car!
